HOW TO BOOK TICKETS THROUGH SMS - IRCTC

Now you can book railway ticket sitting at home by using your mobile and dropping a sms.Indian railways to provide this service to the people all over India from 1st july 2014.Under this service,one can send sms and can reserve seat of any train, the two numbers at which that are used for dropping sms are "139" and "5676714".With this service of railways, the frauds happening while ticket booking could be ceased upto the great extent.

REGISTRATION OF MOBILE NUMBER :

Users have to register their mobile numbers in their IRCTC accounts and bank through which they are willing to book railway tickets.With this for paying the money for the bookings, a four digit code i.e. Mobile Money Identifier (MMID) is also required.For this, users have to contact their concern banks and this authority has been provided to 26 nationalized banks.

HOW TO DO BOOKINGS ON 139 :

Type to start, sms, book, travel date (date and month) on your mobile.Then sms it to 139.At one moment of time, bookings for 6 persons is possible.Afterwards user will receive a message from railways in which user has to fill a format sent by railways, which will include information about the transaction ID, ticket amount, service charge, total amount, seat status, and payment status.Then, to do the payment process an sms have to be sent by the user.User have to type IMPS IRCTC user ID and send it to 139.Then user will get a 7 digit transaction ID which will contain ticket and service charge's status too.

CANCELLATION :

For ticket cancellation send a sms including CNN, PNR number, user ID to 139 and your ticket will be cancelled.

HOW TO DO BOOKINGS ON 5676714 :

First you have to send sms including START and your user ID to 5676714.User have to send this message again with your registered mobile number to 5676714.According to the format type to book, travel date (date and month), train number, class, name of traveler, age, gender on your mobile.This service will provide booking of four members at a time.

RESERVATION FOR 5 HOURS IN THE MORNING WILL BE CLOSED :

From 8 A.M. to 12 P.M. reservation will not be allowed in any class and the language for whole process will be available in English.
