CHANDA KOCHHAR'S JOURNEY IN ICICI :-

In 1984,Chanda Kochhar joined the Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India Ltd. (ICICI) as a management trainee after her Master's degree. In her early years in ICICI, she handled Project Appraisal and Monitoring and projects in various industries like Textile, Paper and Cement.

In 1993, Kochhar was sent to ICICI bank as part of a core team to set the bank. She was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 1994 and then to Deputy General Manager in 1996. In 1996, Kochhar headed the newly formed Infrastructure Industry Group of ICICI.

In APRIL 2001, she took over as Executive Director, heading the in ICICI Bank. It took her ten years to get promoted to AGM, but suddenly within seven years beginning 1994, she got five successive promotions to become Executive director. Her rise through the ranks was spectacular.

In APRIL 2006, Kochhar was appointed as Deputy Managing Director of ICICI Bank.Kochhar is CEO and MD of ICICI Bank from May 2009 for a period of five years. She succeeded K. V. Kamath, who was CEO of the bank since 1996.

“Best Retail Bank in India” award in 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2005.

“Excellence in Retail Banking Award” in 2002.

  Kochhar personally was awarded "Retail Banker of the Year 2004 (Asia-Pacific region)".

"Business Woman of the Year 2005" by The Economic Times.

 "Rising Star Award" for Global Awards 2006 by Retail Banker International.

  Kochhar has also consistently featured in Fortune's list of "Most Powerful Women in Business"     since 2005.

  Kochhar is honoured with Padma Bhushan Award, the third highest civilian honour by the          Government of India for the year 2010 for her services to banking sector.

 Kochhar was also awarded the "ABLF Woman of Power Award (India)" in 2011 at the Asian  Business Leadership Forum Awards.

 INDRA NOOYI :- 

JOURNEY IN PEPSI CO...

In 1994 Nooyi started her journey in  PepsiCo .

In 1998 Nooyi took the lead in the acquisition of Tropicana.

In 2001 she became the President and CFO of PEPSICO .Nooyi has directed the company's global strategy for more than a decade.

In 2006 she became the fifth CEO in PepsiCo. 

According to BusinessWeek ,when she started as CFO in 2000, the company's annual revenues have risen 72%, while net profit more than doubled, to $5.6 billion in 2006.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF INDRA NOOYI :-

Nooyi was named on Wall Street Journal's list of 50 women to watch in 2007 and 2008 .

She was listed among Time's 100 Most Influential People in The World in 2007 and 2008. 

Forbes named her the #3 most powerful woman in 2008.

Fortune ranked her the #1 most powerful woman in business in 2009 and 2010. 

Forbes magazine ranked her the 6th most powerful woman in the world on the 7th of October 2010.
