Our eyes are most precious organ - so we should be doing all we can take care of them. Over the last 10-15 years there has been a marked increase in the number of people who wear glasses and contact lenses. This can be put down to drastically increased computer usage both at home and at work, and increased television watching.
However, in today's world, it can be difficult to find the time to really take care of our eyes. But did you know you can improve your eyesight without contacts or glasses? Here are some tips which will help you to increase your eyesight.
One of the fastest ways to improve your vision naturally is to perform daily eye exercise. Eye exercise are meant to strengthen the eyes and improve vision. Using eye exercise can even eliminate your need for contacts or glasses. Get a regular schedule of eye exercise and try do them daily - this will help you get in the habit of performing exercises and also help you achieve better vision fast.
1) Blinking :- Blinking is a most simple way to keep your eyes fresh and being able to focus longer. Computer users and television watcher tend to blink less, especially when they are intently focused on something. Try it just now a simple exercise. For the next two minutes, mentally take note of how your eyes feel, are they strained, relaxed, tired.
Your blink rate can also help with your communication skills. When someone stops blinking and stares at you when you are talking its the sign of aggression. However whenever you are talking to someone and they are blinking at a 3-4 second interval it is a sign of a relaxed and friendly listener.
2) Eye circles :- To perform the circles eye exercise, keep your eyes open and start to rotate your eyes slowly in clockwise motion. Try to reach your eyes as far as possible in all directions. Complete three full circles and repeat in a counterclockwise motion. This eye exercise can improve your vision by keeping the muscles of your eyes toned.
3) Palming :- The eye exercise known as palming is one of the best methods for improving eyesight. Simply close your eyes and rub your palms together until they generate some heat. Place your palms over your eyes and block out all light. Open your eyes and focus on the darkness for a few minutes then close your eyes again, remove your hands and gradually readjust to the light. Palming gives you the opportunity to rest your mind and your eyes for a few minutes at a time. It may not sound so much of an exercise but it can make a big difference in your working day if you stop for a few minutes and do this exercise.
4) Focusing Technique :- Sit in a comfortable position or stand, this will only take 2-3 minutes at a time. Put your thumb about 10 inches in front of you and focus on it. Now focus on something else about 10-20 feet in front of you. On every breath switch between focusing on your thumb and the 10-20 feet object in front of you. This will strengthen the muscles in your eyes over time and improve vision overall.
5) Splashing :- Splashing cool water on your eyes is very beneficial to your eyes. It clear out dust and allergens, keeping them clean and thereby promoting better vision.

Besides doing these exercises Eating a healthy diet with a plenty of fruits and vegetables will seriously help to improve your eyesight. Green vegetables are a good source of Vitamin A, which in turn is one of the crucial vitamins that is important for healthy eyesight.
