The Association of Indian Foreign Service Officers has also passed a verdict to criticise her arrest and the treatment meted out to her, calling them a violation of the Vienna convection. it demanded that all charges against her be dropped.
Government of India and ministers was strongly reacted against the arrest of diplomat. Prime minister Manmohan Singh elaborate as a "deplorable" she has been transferred to the Indian Mission to the United nations to give her diplomatic immunity. The Indian government had asked US diplomats to return their identity Card and demanded the removal of a barricades. The Indian reaction , screaming Tit for Tat , an Eye for an Eye, will leave everyone blind.India believes that US not only acted in bad faith, but thumbed at its "strategic partner" to conspire in Khobragade's arrest and being treated like criminal by making undergo strip search and cavity search.
Indians reaction in US
Although Khobragade's "indignities" seem pretty standard , in India, the perception that a woman's Honor is the community, society and country's honour still holds. It's one of the reason many women are hesitant to speak about rape - So when reports were released that an Indian diplomat was touched, strip searched, and treated like mere criminal - that did not go over well with the Indian population.
US state department mention that US partnership with India is a long standing partnership and he also says that "we expect that the partnership will continue."
The US department Kerry said as a father of two daughters as the same age as Devyani he regretted what had happened. He hoped that US officials would continued to be treated with respect in India.
