Facebook, one of the primary sponsers of the Internet.org initiative, which aims to bring affordable Internet access to the 5 billion people in the world who still lack connectivity, is in talks with a company that could help further that agenda. TechCrunch is hearing that Facebook is buying Titan Aerospace , makers of near-orbital, solar-powered drones which can fly for five years without needing to land. According to a source with access to information about the deal, the price for this acquisition is $60 million*.

STORY BEHIND 

It is being supposed that Facebook will buy the Titan Aerospace, makers of solar-powered drones that are supposed to fly continuously for five years without having to land on earth any time soon.Facebook is attentive in making the most of these such high flying drones to cover up those parts of the world who are in urgent need or in a very poor access of internet connection in the areas.Probably , the project will start from those areas of Africa , which are not having a proper internet access.

ABOUT TITAN AEROSPACE

TITAN AEROSPACE is the company that manufactures UAV (unmanned Ariel vehicles ) .The drone models are supposed to fly so high which is as much as around 65 thousand feet which is far more effective in working as a satellite device with much less operating costs, making them cost effective and also what their company calls them “atmospheric parking”. The models of such drones are considered to carry up around 100 kg of the entire equipment.
