PRAN

Legendary actor Pran passed away and the industry lost the godfather of Indian villains. Pran , whose real name was Pran Kishan Sikand , was 93. The actor has an immense contribution to Hindi film industry. He was given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to Indian cinema in 2012. He has left a mark on his fans as a hero, villain and a character actor in a filmography of over 400 movies in six decades. Pran is survived by his wife Shukla Sikand and three children.

MANNA DEY

Legendary playback singer Manna Dey passed away after a prolonged illness. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner shocked many with his demise. The singer had given several hits songs like 'Puchho Na Kaise Maine Rain Bitayee', 'Ay Mere Pyare Watan, Ay Mere Bichhade Chaman' and 'Laga Chunari Main Daag'. Dey is survived by two daughters, one of whom is based in the US.

SHAMSHAD BEGUM

Legendary singer Shamshad Begum passed away at her residence. She was 94. She was one of the first playback singers in the Hindi film industry and gave hit songs to the industry that include 'Kahin Pe Nigahen Kahin Pe Nishana', 'Boojh Mera Kya Naam Re', 'Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re', 'Leke Pehla Pehla Pyar'.

JAGDISH MALI

Famous photographer and father of actor Antara Mali , Jagdish Mali passed away this year. He was someone who captured actors like Rekha and Salman Khan on reel with his camera. In his four-decade-long career, the photographer had a wide and illustrious portfolio. A couple of months ago, before his death, a segment of the media reported that he was going through bad days. 

JAGDISH RAJ

In 2013, Bollywood lost Pran, the god of villains and also Actor Jagdish Raj who made a Guinness World Record for playing a cop in 144 films. The actor was 85 years old and passed away due to respiratory problems. He has to his credit films like Mazdoor, Imaan Dharam, Gopichand Jasoos, Silsila, Aaina and Besharam .He is survived by his daughter Anita Raj and Roopa Malhotra.

JIAH KHAN

Jiah Khan’s demise shocked the entire industry. The girl , who entered Bollywood and made her debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan, created waves with her hot personality. Jiah reportedly hanged herself at her residence. The actress was in a relationship with Sooraj Pancholi , son of Aditya Pancholi. However, her death has become a mystery for many as her mother Rabia Khan claimed that her daughter did not hang herself but was murdered by a person very close to her.
